Boston Cannons are formed.

Owned by Matt Dwyer, the team plays in the Major League Lacrosse league. It plays its home games initially at Cawley Memorial Stadium in Lynn, then moves to Nickerson Field (2004), Harvard Stadium (2007), and Gillette Stadium. The team is reconstituted as a member of the new Premiere Lacrosse League in 2021.
